There wasn’t in Aquitaine a structure capable of answering the needs of a great sportive high tech composite boat construction. It’s done since April 2001, with the creation of the CHANTIER NAVAL DE LARROS, in Gujan-Mestras on Arcachon Bay, joining the very small club of the best shipyards in the world capable of building these small jewels of technology. A charismatic figure, the CNL creator and leader, Thierry Eluère, is a well known expert of high tech naval construction. In the last 30 years, he has built the most brilliant competition sailing boats (Ecureuil d’Aquitaine, Fujicolor, Fleury Michon, Aquitaine Innovations, the hydraplaneur, Safran…). Black Pepper® has delegated the construction of the Code 0, whose first units under construction will be available during the first part of 2010. For this first production of standard sailing boats, Thierry Eluère and his team bring their expertise and savoir-faire inherited from offshore racing requirements.
Naval Architecture
An offshore races lover, Romaric NEYHOUSSER has worked on ambitious research and development projects (the hydraplaneur, Safran) and is participating in actual racing multihull and monohull projects in collaboration with Guillaume Verdier and the VPLP cabinet. Coming from mechanics graduate studies (fluids, materials & structures…), he has worked closely for 10 years with Yves Parlier, on the preparation of the 60’ Open Aquitaine Innovations, and on the conception of the hydraplaneur for the Aquitaine Design Team. He has collaborated with CNL since the beginning by bringing his skills to the research department. For Black Pepper®, he worked on the conception and the drawing of the Code 0. Romaric brought a real expertise concerning the design and the technique. Today a naval architect, he is also a sailor to the core. His nautical experience and his maritime culture are feeding on a sensibility oriented towards design and allying performance and elegance.
French Institute for Nautical Certification and Normalization
The Institute is an organism notified by the French government within the framework of the European guideline on pleasure boats. Created in 1995, its mission is to support the nautical companies as part of the European rules and to propose certification services adapted to boating. Its main activity is to evaluate if pleasure boats from 8.2 to 78.74 ft and also some equipment parts are in conformity. In 2009, the ICNN approved the conformity of the Black Pepper® Tenderfish 28’.

From great cruisers to offshore racers through workboats, motorboats or boat refit, François LUCAS has had, for 20 years, a wide experience of all that floats and on the water an experience as a boat-racer on Mini 650 or on Class 40. Graduated in architecture D.P.L.G in 1986 from the Architectural School of Nantes and of very eclectic marine culture, many shipyards call on him.
